I woke up this morning, put my feet on the floor
Ran a comb through my hair, then I headed out the door
But I froze in my tracks, and I didn’t get far
‘Cause I was too afraid of what I saw – there were:
Two ears pokin’ over the tree and
Two eyes starin’ right at me
A cute button nose that was big as a melon
And a puffy tail the size of a 747

There’s a big bunny in my backyard
I think I’m stayin’ inside today

Maybe he’ll just go away

I closed the door, and I hid under the table
I wanted to play, but I knew I wasn’t able
To go outside without seeing that thing
That bunny is huge! It’s the biggest one I’ve seen

If I want to escape, I have to be clever
And I don’t think I can stay inside forever and ever
But for now I guess I’ll just continue to hide
I hope that big bunny in my backyard stays outside

The bunny in my backyard didn’t sound so mean
At least it wasn’t something that is slimy, big, and green
Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if I went outside
I didn’t want to spend every day trying to hide
So I opened the door, and we talked for a while
After hearing some jokes, I finally cracked a smile
And, what do you know? That bunny’s pretty funny
That’s the biggest, tallest, highest jumping, sweetest funny bunny

They keep going and going and going and going and going
Sixteen bunnies in my backyard
That’s too many – I’m going back inside
